Yard Manager (Ottsville and Macungie)

Summary
Wehrung’s is seeking Yard Managers for both our Ottsville and Macungie PA locations. The Yard Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the lumber yard operations which include the warehouse, receiving and shipping departments at the assigned location. In this position you will interact daily with all employees (in the store and outside yard) as well as customers and vendors. The Yard Manager ensures that each department operates in a safe and efficient manner reducing damage, following strict adherence to the cycle count schedule to ensure inventory levels are regularly verified, utilizing proper inventory controls measures, reducing unnecessary waste of company resources, and last but not least holding the team to the high standard of Great Customer Service.
Responsibilities
- Supports the Receiving and Shipping departments with all activities as it relates to the facility as a whole
- Make sure that every warehouse/yard employee follows all company policies and procedures
- Enforce safety protocol
- Record all customer complaints and inquiries
- Evaluate performance of direct reports and complete and provide performance review feedback to employees as scheduled
- Ensure that the team keeps the facility clean and organized

Precast Concrete Preconstruction Manager (M&W)

Role Description:
The M&W Precast, LLC Preconstruction Manager will oversee and manage the preconstruction process for precast concrete projects, ensuring that all estimating, drafting, and project management duties are carefully planned and executed properly. This includes coordinating with contractors, managing third party vendors, document distribution to internal and external stakeholders, and providing technical and administrative support to the preconstruction departments at M&W. Based on established guidelines from the M&W senior management team, this individual will also review all RFQs for job scope, geography and product mix to determine if project scope aligns with M&W objectives.
General Responsibilities and Duties:
- In collaboration with the estimating coordinator & process manager, accurately update and maintain Project Estimating Log
- Establish project job folder on the shared drive, to ensure all drawings, blueprints, specifications, and any electronic communication is properly stored
- Assign projects to internal and external estimating resources, ensuring all RFQ deadlines are met
- Accurately update and maintain project statuses in Titan 3000 Precast Software system
- Coordinate with other M&W departments to establish special item pricing, delivery expenses, required dates for precast production and installation, and any other potential items that may impact estimate
- Review and approve all estimates and drawings provided by third party vendors and distribute as required
- Effectively manage the flow of bid documents(addenda, vendor quotes, RFI’s, etc.) by being single POC for all M&W internal and external estimators
- Assign job duties to project management staff once signed quote is received
- Ensure any drafting and engineering requirements are completed in a timely manner to follow project schedules
- Effectively oversee project management staff to confirm project information is correct and properly given to plant production team
- Consistently review project status and timeline to avoid any potential issues.
- When required, assist with any other estimating and project management duties to allow projects to stay on schedule
Supervisory Responsibilities:

- External third party estimating, drafting, and engineering resources
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient knowledge of plans, prints, drawings, and detailed plan specifications per customer requirements.
